UNOFFICIAL PROGRAM

7 AUGUST, THURSDAY

CHILDREN ON BOARD

This year as well, we traditionally begin the program with a selection of films for children and youth. Each evening will also feature our small but meaningful media literacy workshop — “Playlab”.

Why “Children on Board”?

  • To introduce children to the world of creativity and art through film.
  • To help them recognize educational and artistic values.
  • Because today’s children will steer the Ship of Life tomorrow.

The program is a unique opportunity for joint participation of children and parents — under the stars, by the lake, where images, words, emotions, love, and cinematic memories blend into one.

Program Slots

Slot “KIDANIMA”

  • Animated films (ages 2–7):
    • Dubbed in Macedonian
    • Fun, didactic, and educational
    • Carefully selected for aesthetics and message

Slot “TEEN – TEEN”

  • Feature-length films for youth (ages 10–14):
    • Films from the Balkans and the Mediterranean
    • Rarely or never screened in cinemas or on TV in Macedonia
    • A balance of entertainment, education, and art

Because teenagers know what is good and what is elevated.

Special Screening

Films made by children from Gevgelija.
Three short films on social and ecological themes, created by over 60 children from primary and secondary schools in Gevgelija.

The project began three years ago. Last year, the “Across the Lake” festival joined with a one-day workshop: What is film? How is a film made? Who is called the author? How do you become a filmmaker?

Directed by Goce Cvetanovski.
