Synopsis
Nadezhda Stoyanova (60-65 years old) is a famous Japanese translator, a university professor in the prime of her life and experience, when she learns that she has a tumor. She understands this together with her daughter, 30-year-old Evgenia, a presenter on the most watched TV channel. Both believe that the disease will be cured and their lives will not change drastically – Evgenia continues her routine television work, Nadezhda begins the translation of the considered untranslatable Japanese novel by Nobel laureate Yukio Kobayashi, which is called “Flesh”. But both are mistaken. Nothing will be the same again, because it is the flesh, the inevitable human flesh, that has the last word.
